Through ALPA’s Education Committee, airline pilots volunteer their time to participate in aspiring aviator events—everything from manning booths at aviation universities’ career expos and making appearances at flight schools and middle/high schools to conducting Q&A sessions at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s annual Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference and helping kids earn their aviation badges at the Boy Scouts of America’s National Scout Jamboree.

Want to know where you can find an ALPA pilot presentation near you? Check out our Upcoming Events, or send us an email at education@alpa.org and tell us why we should visit your school next!

In addition to attending these events, volunteer pilots also frequently deliver interactive presentations to both students and faculty regarding their life as an airline pilot, where they delve into the basics of a flight deck, the role each pilot plays in operating the aircraft, the major flight controls of an airliner and how they work, and how pilots navigate and operate the aircraft.
