Community outreach is one of the most important elements of the ALPA Education Committee. ALPA equips its pilots with the necessary tools and resources (e.g., presentations, giveaways, etc.) to visit elementary, middle and high schools for career-day presentations, flight schools and aviation universities, Q&A forums at the annual National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference, and other events that reach the youth who may become future ALPA members.

The 2016-17 school year is under way, and ALPA’s Education Committee volunteers are visiting classrooms across the U.S. and Canada to give students a firsthand account of what it’s like to be an airline pilot. ALPA pilots reached nearly 9,000 grade-school students last year. Through these efforts, students were Cleared to Dream—inspired and encouraged to become professional airline pilots.

If you’d like an ALPA pilot to come to your school or event, fill out the form and someone will contact you.
